What We Do
GNAR is a volunteer-led group that takes direct action to protect Colorado’s natural areas and waterways. We focus on small, meaningful projects that build connection with the land and teach others how to care for it.
-Cleanups
We organize local trash cleanups along trails, creeks, riverbanks, and open spaces to keep wild areas healthy and beautiful.
-Guiding and Outdoor Skills
We lead hikes and summit trips, teaching outdoor skills like navigation, safety, and Leave No Trace — helping people explore responsibly and gain confidence outside.
-Habitat Restoration
We plant native species, remove invasive plants, and help repair damaged land to support wildlife and long-term health.
-Trail Maintenance
We maintain and improve hiking and biking trails by clearing brush, fixing washouts, and keeping access open for all.
-Community Education
We share knowledge with schools, youth groups, and neighbors — showing people how to get involved and take care of nature close to home.
